Our specialist building surveying team, Box Surveys, undertook a project on behalf Hocktief FM to manage a process of inspection and reporting across their entire Kirklees School Portfolio of 18 Senior and Junior Schools.
As privately run and managed schools the 18 Kirklees Schools are subject to a robust and rigorous monitoring by a range of government empowered bodies.
Our client Hocktief FM, who manage the day to day running of the schools are required as part of their service level agreement to deliver these surveys on an annual basis.
The schools themselves vary in size and complexity ranging from large historic buildings to small modern primary schools with schools such as Holmfirth High School, Thornhill Community College and Royds Hall High School being included.
In year one, we undertook a comprehensive condition survey of the buildings interior, exterior and site. Each school was visited with every room, cupboard and space reviewed. Within every area each component was measured, quantified and its condition assessed. The data was then collated before being inputted into the Kirklees Councils' own database system for inclusion within the local authorities overall assets plan.
In subsequent years the team from Rofram Surveys returned to the schools to review the condition of every element of the fabric and update the data held on the local authorities systems. Working on a five year cyclical plan, data is updated annually with a thorough review and re-measure every five years.
Work on the above projects remain on-going and due to the level of service received, Rofram Surveys have been commissioned to undertake numerous projects of a similar nature with Hocktief FM in Salford, Liverpool, The Wirral and Eccles.
