Box Architects recognise the way in which we operate as a business has a wider economic, social and environmental impact. We understand we have a responsibility for our actions and the implications of our activities on the environment, our clients, stakeholders, employees and the wider community. Whilst we have a strong focus on commercial success we will not allow this to compromise our social responsibilities.
As part of our commitment we have identified 3 key CSR areas:-
We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations at both a local and global level. We consistently strive to improve our own green and environmental performance and actively encourage sustainable practices; this will be further supported by our impending ISO 14001 accreditation. We have published an environmental and sustainability policy and we continue to develop ways in which we can improve the environmental efficiency of our business.
Our staff are our greatest asset and we are fully committed to their wellbeing both professionally and personally. We strive to create a working environment that offers support, variety and career progression and are proud of our Investor in People status. We have built our reputation on honest and fair dealings with our clients and stakeholders we follow the RIBA and ARB codes of conduct and fully support equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace.
We have implemented a programme of charitable and community led initiatives, including charitable events, fundraising and the support of designated partner charities. We encourage staff involvement in fundraising initiatives and continually seek to develop our charity and community involvement. We are actively involved in providing work placements, work experience and professional placements to assist the personal and professional development of our next generation.
As an expanding and evolving business Box architects recognise the need to achieve and maintain key industry accreditations and to adhere to professional codes of conduct. We recognise that these accreditations and professional codes help ensure best business practices and offer reassurance to our clients with regard to the effective management of the practice.
Quality management is of paramount importance to the practice and Box architects employ stringent quality management procedures to ensure both the practice and individual projects are managed in a consistent manner, in order to monitor and improve performance.
To ensure our customer requirements are fully met and to demonstrate to our clients that our quality management is of the highest standards our procedures have been independently assessed and have achieved ISO 9001 accreditation. ISO 9001 is the international benchmark for quality management and Box are proud to have achieved full accreditation.
In line with the environmental commitments made as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Box architects have developed a comprehensive environmental policy. In order to fully demonstrate that we manage our environmental duties in a responsible manner our procedures are currently being independently assessed in order to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation. ISO 14001 is the international benchmark for environmental management and Box look forward to announcing successful accreditation shortly.
All the architects employed by Box architect are registered with the Architects Registration Board and are chartered members of the RIBA. As registered architects we fully adhere to the ARB “Architects Code: Standards of conduct and Practice” and the RIBA “Code of Professional conduct”. (See links below)
At Box we recognise that our actions today will have a direct impact on future generations. As a consultancy company active in the construction and property industry we are in a unique position of great responsibility; involved in the design, delivery and management of our built environment. We take this responsibility extremely seriously and as a practice are committed to promoting and delivering sustainable design practices.
The overall objective of good design is to ensure that buildings, infrastructure, public spaces and places are buildable, fit for purpose, resource efficient, sustainable, resilient, adaptable and attractive. Good design is synonymous with sustainable construction, no building, infrastructure or public space can be considered genuinely well designed or sustainable if it does not contribute to environmental, social and economic sustainability.
A successful sustainable design process requires real engagement with similarly committed key stakeholder; Box Architects are committed to delivering environmentally sustainable design through collaboration with likeminded stakeholders.
